Conversational Realities
From my AP Chemistry class on Monday:
Student: (in a false whine) Mr. M, why do we always have so much homework?
Me: Because that which does not kill you will help you pass the AP Exam.

I love all the fun ways you come up with to tell the kids to suck it up and do it. So funny!

Baha!
Awesome response.
FWIW, I took several AP classes in highschool, but didn't take any of the tests. The reason was, I didn't understand how college worked. I thought, "If I skip a class because of testing out of it, I'll totally be behind for the next class." I didn't know I wouldn't have to take more than one calculus class, english class, poli-sci class, etc.
So, in case some of your students don't understand that concept, and don't think it's worth taking the test, you can explain that to them sometime. I could've had at least 9 credits taken care of from the get go with no fear of being lost the next semester because there would be no next semester of that class! Drat!
