Kyle Orton for MVP!

Having closely followed the first four weeks of the young NFL season, I hereby nominate Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton for the NFL's Most Valuable Player award.

The offseason for the Broncos was tumultuous, with a new head coach and the resulting soap opera that led to Pro Bowler Jay Cutler being traded to Chicago. In came Orton, along with expectations of a rebuilding year in the Mile High City.

Instead, Orton has quietly but competently led the Broncos to an undefeated start. He hasn't thrown an interception in four games and has managed games well down the stretch to bring his team out on top.

The Broncos are the NFL's most unexpected 4-0 team, and they owe much of that success to Orton. He is The Man in Denver. He clearly deserves the MVP trophy. The NFL should give it to him—right now.

After all, if President Obama can be a Nobel Peace Prize laureate nine months into a four year Presidential term, certainly Orton can be the MVP four weeks into a seventeen week season.
