Politics as Usual

This story comes via Yahoo News: Facts Are Lost in Bush, Kerry Campaigns.

Wouldn't it be nice if politicians--from either side--used honesty rather than exaggeration and innuendo to get elected? Maybe if more people were interested in the facts and not in just hearing what they wanted to hear, that strategy would work.

  • Isn't that the truth. I've pretty much given up on this election. We're up for 4 more years of incompetent leadership, regardless of which frat boy gets elected. Ah, for a thinking constituency . . .

  • It's probably been said by many writers, but the one I remember is Douglas Adams, who specifically made the point in his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
